The Bark River Bird u0026 Trout is a light-weight hunting knife, designed for poultry and fish. Hence the name bird u0026 trout. Many knife makers have produced a version of this classic idea. Few knives, however, come close to this Bark River. This knife is namely incredibly thin behind the edge. As such it cuts like no other. Because the edge is convex it will retain its sharpness well. This knife excels when hunting or fishing. It has also proven its worth in the kitchen a thousand times over. This knife is too finely constructed for bushcraft and woodwork.
The blade is made from CPM S45VN. A premium type of stainless steel that retains its sharpness well. As you might expect from Bark River the knife is razor-sharp. The edge has been enhanced with a convex grind which you can maintain by [stropping it](/en/ct/stropping.htm).
The handle is made from Desert Ironwood. A type of hardwood mainly found in the United States and Mexico. Characterizing is the beautiful colour and the rich pattern. This stunning type of wood makes the knife look extra luxurious.
