Bark River Mini Aurora CPM 154, Hellfire Maple Burl

The Bark River Mini Aurora Hunter is the baby brother of the famous Bark River Aurora. You immediately recognize the pointed blade and the slim profile. This Mini, however, is slightly shorter than the regular Aurora. This knife was developed as the ultimate bushcraft knife. Prototypes of the Aurora were extensively tested by bushcraft-experts in North America and Europe. Based on their feedback the Aurora was perfected. The result is an amazing outdoor knife. The pointed tip is great for detailed tasks and the spine of the blade is perfect for a firesteel.
The blade is made from CPM 154. A premium type of stainless steel that retains its sharpness well. As you might expect from Bark River the knife is razor-sharp. The edge has been enhanced with a convex grind which you can maintain by [stropping it](/en/ct/stropping.htm).
The handle is made from Hellfire Maple Burl. A breathtakingly beautiful type of wood. It is extracted from the root wood of a maple and then stabilized with a red resin. As such the material is sustainable and incredibly beautiful. A real eye-catcher.
The Bark River Mini Aurora comes with a leather belt sheath. You can carry it both straight (belt width up to 5.5 cm) and diagonally (belt width up to 6.0 cm).
Bark River makes all of its knives almost completely by hand. As such each knife is unique. Especially when working with natural materials a knife can differ from the photographs. The knife you receive can therefore be subtly different from the product photos. The model and type of material, however, will always be the same.
