The Bark River UltraLite Bushcrafter is a perfect light-weight bushcraft knife. The blade is thin, razor-sharp and precisely large enough. The handle feels comfortable in hand, it is what Bark River is known for. This knife was designed as a perfect back-up knife next to a larger bushcraft knife, or as a light-weight knife for shorter (day)trips.
The blade is made from CPM 3CV-steel. A tool steel that is known for its exceptional strength. As such it won’t break and will retain its sharpness well. You do, however, need to be careful with moisture and acids: CPM 3V is not completely stainless. So clean it after use and occasionally add a drop of oil to keep this knife in great shape. The edge has been enhanced with a convex grind which you can maintain by [stropping it](/en/ct/stropping.htm).
The handle is made from canvas micarta. A strong and light-weight material, made from linen and synthetic resin. Feels comfortable in hand, even in wet or cold circumstances.
The Bark River UltraLite Bushcrafter comes with a leather belt sheath (max. belt width 5.5 cm).
Bark River makes all of its knives almost completely by hand. As such each knife is unique. Especially when working with natural materials a knife can differ from the photographs. The knife you receive can therefore be subtly different from the product photos. The model and type of material, however, will always be the same.
