The Condor Large Huron Knife 2819-5.25HC is a large yet nifty outdoor knife. Its name comes from the Huron Nation, the nation of the Wyandot Indians in Canada. This knife is inspired by their traditional design. You can use the Condor Large Huron for a variety of outdoor activities, such as bushcraft, hunting, food prep and odd jobs while camping.
The blade of the Condor Large Huron Knife is made from 1095 carbon steel. This is a strong steel that is easy to sharpen, and can also take quite the beating. 1095, however, is not completely stainless, so you need to clean it regularly and add a drop of oil once in a while. The knife has a strong full-tang construction. This means that the thickness of the blade runs throughout the entire handle. The edge is distinctive: it primarily has a Scandi grind, but with a convex finish. This is also known as a ‘Scandivex’ edge. It gives you the benefits of a Scandi grind and a convex grind at the same time, making it ideally suited to woodworking.
The handle is made from walnut wood, The front of the handle has been wound with bronze wire. Over time this will discolour and form a patina which will make each knife unique.
The Condor Large Huron Knife comes in a traditional leather sheath with a belt loop that can be attached to belts up to 6.2 cm wide. The leather is stamped and embellished.
